Exam 3 is on April 12, 2011. from 7:30-9:30 P.M.
Review Session: There will be a review session on
Monday, April 11 in CB 106 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
What's on the Exam?
Exam III will ask the students to:
(i) calculate the arc-length of a curve given by the graph of functions;
(ii) perform the important technique of integral of rational function by the partial fraction method: decomposition into the exact form of partial fraction; determine the values of unknown coefficients by solving system of linear equations; and integration.
(iii) calculate approximate integral via Midpoint, Trapezoidal, and Simpson's rules, and estimate their error upper bounds;
(iv) determine the convergence/divergence of improper integrals;
(v) revisit the convergence issue of positive series by application of improper integrals: Integral Test and Estimate its Remainder.
(vi) calculate tangent line equations, arc-length, area of enclosed regions when the underlying curve
is given by a parametric equation.
