Governor Paul Patton
Gov. Paul Patton is a strong and very active supporter of the KEMTP. He was sufficiently interested in the program to take the test and to urge his staff and cabinet members to do likewise. He remembered enough mathematics from his studies as a mechanical engineering major at the University of Kentucky to get a perfect score on the test. In November of 2001, he visited Scott High School in Northern Kentucky to promote the KEMTP. He worked through seven problems on the KEMTP test for the students and told them about the importance of a good mathematics education. The visit was a public relations bonanza for the KEMTP.

Representative Jon Draud (R)
Rep. Jon Draud (R-Crestview Hills) is the author and sole sponsor of House Bill 178, the bill that created the KEMTP. The bill was passed unanimously by the 2000 General Assembly and was signed into law by Gov. Patton. He has been the legislative champion of the KEMTP ever since and has worked diligently and tirelessly with his legislative colleagues and the Governor to insure continued funding of the program.
Representative Frank Rasche (D)
Rep. Frank Rasche (D-Paducah) considers the KEMTP one of his favorite programs. As chair of the House Education Committee, he played a key role in the passage of the legislation creating the KEMTP and was a powerful advocate of the idea that the KEMTP be offered online.
